Had this for dinner the other night, salmon and mash.
Didn't have any steak but the salmon worked great (good rhyme isn't it?). The salmon was seasoned with a little salt and pepper and then pan fried, skin-side down, on high heat for three minutes. Then I flipped it and fried for another couple of minutes.
The skin was nice and crispy but I was still not quite happy with it. So I finished it off with the blowtorch, crisping up the skin like crackling.
Served with crushed potatoes and a green salad with pine nuts and a honey lemon dressing. Quick and easy meal, perfect to knock up after a day of work.

I think I've got to get a blow torch too, would be very useful to make anything extra crispy :)
ReplyDeleteI got mine from Bunnings. They are heaps cheaper and work just as good, if not better.
ReplyDelete$50 for a blowtorch from a kitchen place or $50 for 2 blowtorches from Bunnings.. awesome!
